Acai - Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where can you find Acai?
A: The tree, or palm, is located in the Brazilian Rain Forests of the Amazon.
Q: Is Acai Organic?
A: Our product, Pure and Perfect Acai, is USDA certified Organic in addition to Orthodox Union certified Kosher. Many other products are not certified Organic, but for all practical purposes, it is. It is actually far better than Organic because it is part of the Amazon Rain Forest. The Rain Forest is untouched and the trees have grown naturally for thousand of years.
Q: How much should I ingest per day to maximize the benefits?
A: Our product, Pure and Perfect Acai, suggests taking between 2 and 8, 500mg capsules per day. It really depends on the individual, their eating habits, what they eat, weight, exercise habits, etc. Personally, I started with 4 per day for the first week. After the first week, I noticed positive changes in my health so I reduced my intake to 2 per day. If needed, I will increase as I go along.
Q: Why can't I find Acai berries at my local grocery store?
A: Because the berries are 80 to 90% seed and lose most of their nutritional value within 24 hours of being harvested.
Q: What is the Caffeine content of this product?
A: It contains less than 1mg of Caffeine per 30 grams. Approximately the same amount as decaf coffee.
Q: Does the little berry help you lose weight?
A: To date, there is no clinical proof that AcaiI will help you lose weight. There are thousands of testimonials whereby individuals have claimed weight loss after introducing the product into their diet. Acai is very rich in healthy fats, so it is very satisfying. When you are satisfied, you eat less, and when you have more energy, you burn more calories. This seems to be the case with Acai.
Q: What is ORAC and what does it stand for?
A: ORAC = Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity.
Q: What is the ORAC Assay?
A: The ORAC assay is a method for measuring the total antioxidant activity of a biological sample. ORAC assay measures the antioxidant activities of human, agricultural products, food products, food ingredients and pharmaceutical products.
Q: What is a normal ORAC for daily consumption?
A: According to the USDA, you should be consuming 3,000 ORAC units of fruits and/or vegetables a day. In fact, most of us only consume about 1,000 to 1,200 ORAC units per day. In order to reach the recommended ORAC values, we would have to eat 5-9 servings of fruit and vegetables a day. The bottom line is this; very few of us are consuming the recommended ORAC units on a daily basis. By using this product, you will exceed the minimum recommended ORAC units.
Q: What are the Capsules made of?
A: The capsules used to capsulate the Acai Extract is made of a natural plant base. It is Kosher certified, vegan certified and Halal certified.
Q: Who can use the Acai capsule product?
A: Pursuant to studies done, everyone can use the product. However, people who are pregnant or children, should check with their physicians before taking the product.
Q: So what makes antioxidants and Omega fats so important?
A: Studies have shown how the French and Mediterranean diets, rich in red wine and olive oil, helped maintain the heart, body, brain and skin. Our product, Pure and Perfect Acai, combines the best of both diets with 30x the antioxidants of red wine, and an essential fatty acid profile similar to olive oil.
